Hi Everyone--We passed into another
time zone so lost an hour of sleep last night that we sorely
needed! However, we were really lucky with the weather as it was
cool and extremely cloudy today but all we got was sprinkles.
We made 59 miles today and wanted
more but it was not possible. We got into a nasty road work
renovation that was so dangerous with big dump trucks on our
tail so we jumped in the van instead. When we got to our
destination, Huntington, West Virginia--a new state--hooray!--it
was getting dark so had to settle for the 59. Now have a total
of 771.5 so that's exciting.
No one can know how difficult it is to find places to ride. I know I still have my "angel" on my handlebars. I was coming down a long, steep hill and a huge garbage truck met an oncoming vehicle and as he squeezed by me at a fast speed, all there was to the right of the white line was a set of rumble bumps that dropped off into a deep ravine. I heard him come up behind me but I had no where to go. My heart is beating fast just telling you about it so I know my angel was on duty.
Rural Kentucky has been beautiful
today.
