September 28th,   Day 10

   Carbondale, Illinois  To   Marion, Kentucky

Miles Biked Today 75 - Total Miles 583

Hi Everyone--This may not be very long but I'm happy to report I did another 75 miler today--Wow! That's even hard for me to believe. We'll be heading into the mountains of Kentucky real soon so every mile is important as we have no idea what we will encounter. The weather was gorgeous again but hot in the afternoon. We finally found a bicycle and sports shop so I now have another new odometer. Nancy measured mileage for me today again on the van. At least no one will argue with her total--she's a lawyer! She has to leave for Wahoo tomorrow a.m. to get back to her "real world". We really are going to miss her--it was great having a "fourth"--it's not easy being on the road every day; not having any idea where you are going or how long it's going to take to get there.  The pedaling is only a part of our expedition. Love, Patricia

Gabriel checking in.  Today was an amazing day, not only did Patricia tag on 75 miles yesterday, she did it again today. I must admit I was getting a little worried and edgy at the beginning. We spoke about doing 1400 miles. At the rate we started off with, there was no way we were going to reach that goal. Yes, I got a little pushy and wasn't exactly too pleased with the start. We all must learn to dance together out here and we are getting better at it. Patricia's goal today was to do 90 miles and I know she could have done it except for us. We had two flat tires and assorted mechanical problems that had to be dealt with today.  I promised her when we left that she would not have to ride alone so she had to cool her heels while I dealt with the problems. Today's riding conditions were hot.

She wore through all three of us. Patricia was doing five 15 mile laps, Tony, did three of them and Nancy joined for one. l did two --all of our tushes are sore. As Patricia and I were riding back on the last lap and it was getting dark, Patricia had been pedaling from sunrise to sunset--almost 10 ours. ABC TV station caught us on the road-- www.wsiltv.com  An ABC Station, took an interview, She now has 587 miles as of tonight. This woman is truly not normal, she has more energy than anyone ,Ask Poor Tony! Now he understands that she just has an great strength to pedal on & is getting stronger every day.. Well I just found out Brett Farve threw 6 tds so that is making me forget how much my ASS Hurts! that seat really do not fit very well there with me,so I bought a seat that looks like a tractor seat, for my buns set right in it, NICE! I want to  start riding with her. I had a nice day today. There was really nice lakes here & it was parent weekend here as there is a big college here & we almost did not find a room. Good night m& thanks for your donations every bit helps, we got the list of donors & we I have to say is a BIG THANK YOU!
